Thandi and Ntsako’s Great Crawl

  • Share post

For Grade 3 and older. A lovely homegrown living book. This is a delightful and unique story that illustrates the life cycle of the emperor moth. Two little Mopani caterpillars who are great friends love playing with each other on their special Mopani tree. One day their tree is destroyed and they decide to search for a new tree where they will feel safe. The caterpillars crawl for many days and experience many dangers. Finally they find their perfect Mopani tree to call their home. The reader will thoroughly enjoy the caterpillars’ friendship, the fun they have with each other and the love they share. The reader is also encouraged to think about conservation and the role people can play.

Suggestions for exciting activities and conversations are made at the end of the story.
